Please note: All families need to provide a $40 fundraising deposit check. This check will only be cashed if your player is unable to participate in the tag day event the weekend of Sept 19^th. For those who participate, your check will be returned to you. The deposit check can be mailed in with your final payment or turned in at jersey distribution night.

You may have seen the above icon located on the first floor underneath the stairwell of their home rink, the Salem Icenter or at the website (www.the-icenter.com). The Boston Bulldogs http://www.bulldogshockey.com/ are a junior league hockey team competing in (division A) of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (AJHL) http://www.atlantichockey.org/ajhl.php. The players are from all over the country typically ages 19-20, aspiring to be placed at the college level, or even go pro. The organization has now expanded to include an additional development team. In total, the organization is now comprised of some 40+ outstanding players looking to be placed in a home for the up and coming 2008/2009 season.

These are topnotch young athletes of impeccable character, with great ambitions!! Further still, you won’t get just any player - to make a compatible match with a prospective home the club goes to great lengths in evaluating a players background and personal needs (e.g. does he like dogs, cats, kids, etc.) and place them accordingly.

What they are looking for in a good home:

1) A warm bed, a decent meal, & a place they can call home, away from home.

2) A supportive environment

In addition to a stringent hockey schedule, the club sets fourth rules and expectations of the players – some of which are listed below:

1) To get/have/ and keep a job
2) Take at least 1 accredited college course

3) Have their own bank accounts, and are expected to cover their own expenses – equipment, clothes, travel, etc.

4) Provide their own means of transportation to and from the Icenter, games, work, etc.

5) To blend in with, and be treated as, just another family member - this also extends to helping out around the house if asked to do so.

6) Lastly, as a way of saying thank you for your hospitality and to help off-set home meal expenses etc. - a monthly stipend of $350 is paid to the host family

USA HOCKEY ON-LINE REGISTRATION

INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

The following is a new procedure this season for all Salem Youth Hockey Participants.

All players and coaches are required to register with USA Hockey before they can participate in any games or practices for the 2008-2009 Season. The voting body of NHAHA has voted to make Online Registration mandatory for ALL New Hampshire Associations beginning this 2008-2009 Hockey

Season. The Registration Fee is $31.00 per player ($30.00 USA Hockey Registration Fee and $1.00 NHAHA Player Fee).

Instructions are as follows:

Go to: USA Hockey website: www.usahockey.com

Click on: “Register Online” or go to www.usahockeyregistration.com

Click on: Ice Players and Coaches

Click on: 18 years or older

Select Season: 2008-2009 (valid Sept. 1, 2008 - Aug. 31, 2009)

Select who you are registering: Self, Child (Under 18), etc.

Fill in Registrant Information. Be sure to verify your information before you continue.

Click “Continue” to checkout. If you are registering more than one player/coach, click on “Register Someone Else”, otherwise click “Continue”.

Fill in credit card information, then click “Continue”. *** ON-ICE COACHES and PLAYERS over AGE 6 will pay a $30.00 USA Hockey Registration Fee and Players will pay an additional $1.00 NHAHA Player Fee.

Upon completion of the registration you will receive a confirmation page that confirms that you have completed the registration process.

YOU MUST PRINT OUT THE CONFIRMATION SHEET AND EITHER MAIL IT TO ME AT:

Upon receipt of your confirmation page, I will scan your barcode into the system to complete the registration process and assign your player/coach to a team.

All players and coaches must complete this process before they can participate in any games or practices. Team Rosters can not be completed until all players and coaches have registered.
